Frohling Sign Company was founded by Philip J. Frohling, Jr. after he decided to forge his own path during the Great Depression by taking a correspondence class for "sign writing", as it was then called. His son, Philip J. Frohling III, joined the family business and brought his brother-in-law, Brian O'Connor, on board in 1981.
